HD status lights stays on after playing dvd?

The status led on my hard drive stays on afer ejecting a dvd it does not seem to be spinning or anything and my computer seems to be working like normal until I shut down and restart.
Why is this so? It did this on my old computer with the same dvd player so I suspeck its the dvd

8 gig, 30gig hd
msi648 mobo

Well, Lite-on DVD players are not of the greatest quality. Does your harddrive do work after you play a DVD? Can you hear it spinning and doing strange things after a DVD - or is it just that the light stays on? Did your old computer use the same mobo? Does your HD light work as it should otherwise?
 
There dost seem to be any action on the hard drive sounds quiet. Every thing works as normal.
Everything different except the DVD player even using winxp used 98 before. And HD light works normal if not playing dvd.
 
You should probably check that your hard drive and DVD drive are both jumpered correctly to either Master or Slave. It could also be a bug on the design of the motherboard ... I know that my hard drive light freezes on "On" when my tray is ejected, but resumes when I put it back in..
 
Yeh its all jumpered correctly it even starts the HD light goin on when ejecting a normal cd.
Oh well must be a bug with the DVD player I recon. Might see if there if a firmware upgrade
