When booting up, the post hangs between the time it searches through NAV to the time it finds the HD. I have had this problem ever since I istalled it, and have tried doing watever to get it to work, nothing seems to help.

The setting in Bios is on Auto, but I even tried manual settings, and it still does it. Sometimes nav check is still not done when it find the HD, but the hand time can be a whole minute. I dont have SMART enabled either.

I want to reinstall windows, and would like this problem fixed as well. Is it the way the HD was installed? is there a setup program for HD's. Are there HD that just take a long time?

The reason this is frusterating is because I have 4 exact computers and this is the only one with the problem. This NEW HD did replace a defective HD, but it has been this way from the beginning, like 2-3 years ago.

Any help or possible solutions would be appreciated.

I have actually figured it out, with help from people on here. It was a jumper set to master with slave, and there was no slave so it was hanging. Chnaged it to CS and works perfect now. Thanks.
