HD recovery

I have been looking all around the internet to find a free program to recover data from my hard drive that was NTFS. It lost the file system and I had my "My Documents" mapped over to it.

Does anyone know of a free program that would recover the data from the drive? Several demos and trials will find the data but nothing will recover it without making me pay (which it looks like might be unavoidable).

Thanks for the help!

Yes, you need to pay.
Those companies didnt do all that work to make a useful program just for practice.

However, I will say that the paid version of File Scavanger works awesomely. Well worth the money for me. You can pay online and get the code for unlock right away in your email.

You can try this software Text

Hope that helps.

That only recovers certain types of files. I may have found something that will work though. Thanks!

There are some file recovery tools out there for NTFS and FAT32, but they only recover deleted files from in-place partitions.

File Scavanger can recover stuff even if you delete the partition and do a quick format.

EDIT: It can also find drives that Windows Computer Management refuses to acknowledge.

Yeah its a really nice program. My friend had his go out about a month ago and he got a liscence for it, so I will probably have him recover the data for me with his program.
