the good ol' trusty 8mb, NCQ, and the five year warranty everyone goes goo goo over seagate sounds solid like a solid choice but the "cool and quiet" SATA-II & 16mb western digital sounds rather tempting for just a few more bucks. after checking the specs - any opinions, comments?

for RAM... i'm getting an Epox 9NPA+ Ultra MB & X2 4200, gonna OC the X2 as far as air will take it but not the ram and just wanna double check RAM compatibility, since i remember hearing that some ram wouldn't work with the epox and don't remember if it was just certain quality ram or also value.

value OCZ
value corsair

assuming both are fine, is one recommended over the other? i don't care about OC'ing ram, only ram that won't hold back my CPU OC.

I picked Seagate. Very good experiences with them before, RELIABLE as hell. WD has always been great, but it's not like they're super or anything... The WD drive will be faster, but the Seagate willb e quieter and cooler.

did you read the specs though? seems it'd be the opposite. i got a 160gb seagate for another PC recently and between maxtor and WD running in the same machine it was easily the hottest. the WD mentioned claims to run very cool and use "WhisperDrive" technology.
