Hi,

I have a problem not being able to see a partition I have created.

A couple months ago, I formatted my computer and installed a new copy of Windows XP 32Bit. I also partition my HD for file storage( mostly for backup) Yesterday, I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64Bit and my partitioned drive doesn't appear in My Computer Hard Disk Drives.

I know my partitioned drive is existent, but it's not showing up. Could one reason be, that I switched from a 32Bit OS to a 64Bit?

Also, there are only pictures, music and word documents on that partition. No programs installed on it.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

This is a common problem, and it's not a 32bit/64bit issue. By default, Windows 7 does not mount every partition it sees. This can be resolved by going to the Disk Management console (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management) and assigning a drive letter to the partition that you don't see mounted.

If you search these forums you should be able to find more help since this is a such a common problem.:)
