Ok, fixed my old problem. The PSU side of the pci cable was knocked out. :|. Anyway, my new hd is detected in both the bios and my device manager, but I can't see it in my computer. Also, when I boot after it shows what drives/cpu/ram I have, my SATA controller says "no drives found", it never did this before. Everything else works as before

If Device Manager sees it, you just need to Initialize it. From the Manage screen, below Device Mgr, there's Disk Management. Click that. You should get a popup wizard asking you to initialize your new disk.
