HD Mounts as Removable Drive???

I just finished building a system based in an EVGA 680i (A1). Installed XP Pro with a SATA WD Raptor installed in Channel 4 (I think).

The Raptor is the only hard drive and contains the OS partition

When XP installed, the WD Raptor was detected as new Hardware. Now I have the option of removing it, as if it was an external drive.

Is there a setting to designate a HD as Removable / Non-Removable? How did does this happen and does anyone know hoe to make it un-removable?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.

I also suspected that their would be a setting (check box) under the drive properties, but I couldn't find one.

I didn't install the F6 drivers. Aren't they really only for installing the OS onto a RAID array?

One thing I think may be causing the problem is that the first boot device in the BIOS is listed as Removable Hard Drive. I though this was kind of strange when I ran through the bIOS the first time. When I get home, i'm going to remove the reference to a removable HD in the Boot order. It should then either not boot, or boot the Raptor as a Standard Hard Drive....

....That is my theory anyway.

There's a place in properties where you can uncheck removeable, but more important did you install the F6 drivers?

If the drive is detected, no drivers are required. Futhermore, if he installed using a windows XP cd that has SP2 already on it, there is no need to load F6 drivers
