HD monitor (gateway 2185)

OK so I have the 1900XT and a gateway 2185 LCD monitor, is DVI the best way to connect the two? the monitor has alot of options for connectivity, I am mainly looking to take advantage of the HD portion of the monitor, on the upper right corner of the bezel it says HD monitor, I figure I might as well take advantage of it... isnt HD a good thing?

All HD means is that it's compliant with the standard resolutions and refresh rates that HD is made up of. Sorry if this is confusing I can't think of a better way to word it. Just connect it via DVI and set the resolution to 1680x1050 and you're ready to go.

OH ok well thats what I thought, but ya know for 600.00 I want to make sure that I get my dollars worth... LOL, I am such a cheap bastard, kinda like George Castanza. well not that bad but I would hate to run this monitor at a standard lower than what it is capable of. thanks for the help.
