HD LED problem with new Raptor? (SOLVED)

Just installed a new Raptor as primary boot drive- switched my 80 gig to a storage drive, and now I notice the HD LED stays on continuously, at about 1/3 brightness! It flashes brightly during normal disc access, during seeks, but why is it on continuously now? Any clues?

That is odd... I also have a Raptor as my primary boot drive with no weird HD activity. Have you tried disconnecting the drive and turning the computer on without it?

hard to test hat way, as it's the only boot drive I now have, and you'll notice that during POST, the HD LED is always on till windows starts to load anyway.
I just added a Promise pci card, and moved the storage drive and 1 burner to that card to see if it made a difference- same thing.

ok, this is weird:
I was told when I purchased a SATA drive that I would lose 1 of my IDE channels, so I needed to buy an ad-in card to handle all the drives I had( 1 Parallel IDE, 1 SATA, 2 cdroms), so I was leaving the 2nd cdrom power cable disconnected ( ide still attached). For the hell of it,I hooked it up like before ( on the parallel primary slave channel), and everything is detected fine, and the light no longer is on!
