I need some help getting this thing to work... I am using a converter card to make my IDE hard drives plug into my Serial ATA ports...

What do I set the jumpers to on my IDE hard drive? Master, single drive? Thanks!

Thats an interesing question
Real SATA has no master/slave
I would guess master, but I dont know if it even matters

You will have had to load sata drivers on setup of course and set SATA/RAID to boot first if its your boot drive
However some adapters dont work with certain SATA chipsets - like Intel
I believe the Abit one is the most universal

If you're going to use adapters on ide drives so that you can use them in your sata ports watch the brands you buy. Some adapters don't work with some SATA cards/chipsets. My highpoint adapters are incompatible with my intel SATA.
So just check around for compatibility first before buying them.

I had some trouble with the first two or three IDE-to-SATA adapters I had. Quite a few of them will require that the IDE drive be set to MASTER. I don't know if CABLE SELECT will cut it. In any case, there will likely be instructions with the adapter that state the proper setting.

As Bozo mentioned, MASTER/SLAVE/CS doesn't have much bearing the SATA world. It only comes up in this situation to get the adapter to work properly.

anyone know a few good choice of these adapters? And possibly reviews...

Looking for the best cheapest one since I need to get a least 2 at the moment.
