hd htpc?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I think I'd like to build a small HD HTPC/PVR computer and hook it up to my 32" Westinghouse via DVI.

I have Comcast cable in Clovis, CA, and I'm pretty sure I am required to use their HD tuner cable box to get HD. I have basic cable + the HD box to get the network HD channels.

I'd connect the computer to my home network via wireless G.

I'd use the computer to not only record HD and regular TV, but also to play DVDs, play music and photos from the network, play games, and browse the web.

If anyone knows of a good site that would have info on building something like this, please let me know! Thanks!

I have a basic guide on building computers... A HD HTPC will prolly be pretty tricky. Unless you live in Europe or Asia, theres nothing that I know of that will capture HDTV. All current US solutions only capture over the air broadcasts(could be wrong about this). If I were you tho, I'd plan to get a ATI x1xxx card, so you can take advantage of h.264 decoding/encoding thru the video card. You'll also need MAJOR Hard Drive space... In case you still want the guide, here it is:

Regular Guide

Edit: just checked, and yeah, unfortunately, it doesnt look good. Best bet is thru the firewire port(duh.. anand had an article about this). However, most companies scramble or compress their signals. Some can deal with compression, but so far, no dice as far as de-scrambling HD goes.
