Thanks! Hard to pass up these deals. I only have an Xbox 360 HD DVD unit, but might have to pick up a dedicated Toshiba player so I can get lossless sound with HD DVDs - I have it on blu ray and find it really helps.

Just an FYI, some of these older movies or budget transfers don't look much better than their DVDs. They're certainly higher resolution but you just see more noise and the low quality transfer more clearly. The main benefit I found (from Netflix rentals mainly) was support for higher quality audio, but many only support standard AC-3. Still, a good price considering they're definitely better than the DVD counterparts for the same price.

Nice! Normally I get charged tax ordering from Amazon (being from the Seattle area) but not this time. This is sold through BSE Entertainment.

Free shipping + no tax + low price = Win for consumer

Very true, but this is one of the cases where HD version is better than DVD despite the film's age. I own Boomstick Edition DVD and have 1080p rip, and 1080p is a much much better transfer compared to DVD.

Great deal!

FYI on the "Payback - Straight Up - Director's Cut." The ending is fucking lame. IIRC, they switched the male bad guy boss for a female and the entire ending is different. It was so fucking gay I blocked it from my memory. I really wouldn't bother buying this version in HD-DVD because the plot sucks so bad now.

I dont know, PAYBACK is one of my favorite movies and I liked the StraightUp cut. Its not so "flashy". I would say the version seen in the theater would be better, but the new cut is a nice look at what might have been. Great movie! Side note: Watch the original late 60's movie its based/copy/remake of, pretty harsh and rockin for that time. POINT BLANK

as for this deal, wow, $60 for me... I hope they all come. Missed out on the Matirx pack the other day and got Transformeres (pad cart for free shipping, blah!).

In for 5 with free shipping. :)

I got in on the Venturer HD DVD player with 3 movies a while back and have been scrambling to build a HD DVD collection while there's still time.
