I asked the same question in peripherals forum. I think the best way is to get an xbox360 external drive and find out how to get it to run on a PC. I want an internal drive though.

Xbox360 DVD player FTW.

$199 is a small price to pay for such a jump in IQ.

thanks for the ideas, maybe this is a dumb question but why dont they have HD DVD drives for a PC? Am I the only one that wants to watch HD DVD's on their computer?

Did you read my post? The Xbox360 HD-DVD player works fine on a PC WITHOUT a Xbox360

Maybe he meant internal HD-DVD drives. I haven't seen one yet for sale.

Newegg has a few other external USB2 ones:

Yeah I thought that was maybe what he meant.

There's no better deal than the Xbox HD-DVD player. If you're gonna get stuck with an external one no matter what, might as well save $150 in the process.

yeah, what I meant was why dont they just sell a regular PC HD DVD drive, but I fully understand what you are saying.
I am not sure what I am going to do at this point, I am tossing the idea of either a new processor/mobo, or get the HD DVD player, what do you guys think?
