HD-DVD or BD?

heh...not quite as pertinent a question now as it was a year ago, what with the fallout from the battle of the big tech giants.

Well if it were that simple than it will be BD.

HP sells more computers than Dell anyway, so who gives a sh!t what Dell thinks.

And I agree with the guy below, Blu-Ray is an ultimately stupid name. HD-DVD just makes more sense.

HD - DVD cause it will cost lesser to make and most average joes will get confused by the term bluray.

Nobody wants to replace DVD's ATM, so, it's a clusterfvck and the formats will go the way of the laserdisc.

Last I saw Dell had 18% of the market to HP's 16%.

Probably Blu-Ray will win. They have developed a "content management" system that many content owners will find attractive. I was just reading about it today.

blu-ray...HD-DVD sucks.

but i still will go with DVDs...cause im sure longsh!t/vista will refuse to play those types of new discs because of that gay protection.

Blu-ray has Playstation 3 to give it a huge boost in userbase. The actual content is about 50/50 right now, so given the PS3 support and my bias to superior media, I'm going with Blu-ray.

For the masses, yes. But given that logic no one wants HDTVs.

I don't think the porn industry wants to switch to hi-def. Unless they want to edit every frame of video to hide their models' "imperfections".

Blu-Ray won't cost that much:

Day 0 = $800
Day 540 = $80

Like most I'll wait until BluRay are FAST and CHEAP.

didn't the two corperations (sony and toshiba? or panasonic or soemthing?) meet and decide to develope a happy medium rather than compete with seperate formats?

edit: never mind, i guess that all got scrapped 🙁 link

I do hope it will be Bly-Ray, but there's a good possibility it will be HD-DVDs because of cost, especially if porn producers with their smaller budgets go for it.

well if its hddvd then its going to be fun buying pirate copies on ebay. its cheaper to make with current factories...which also means its easy to pirate😉

Somehow I don't think they're letting the pirates take part in the vote here.😛
