I have a 215tw samsung monitor will that be good enough to use for watching hd dvd and what is the best 3rd party hd software to use?

Looking at some quick specs of your monitor, it looks like it doesnt have HDCP, meaning if you try and play a movie on it, its either not gonna play or its gonna make you lower your resolution.

However, apparently there is a version of AnyDVD that decrypts HD-DVD's and bypasses the HDCP. According to my magazine, its a steep $80 however.

Unless you want to decrypt every HD-DVD to your HDD and watch them from there to bypass the HDCP. This way is free, but it probably takes a while to decrypt the movie, takes a lot of space on your HDD, and would guess they are working on stopping the ability to do this.

And your not going to get the full 1080P out of that monitor. It will still look better than a regular DVD, but it wont be the best.

I got most of this out of this magazine I read, its pretty new, but it might already be outdated, as I think the decryption method just hit a snag with new AACS guards. I dont know though.
