Whats up you monkeys!

I have some questions about this exciting new HD technology:

1) When will this technology come forth (roughly)?

2) Are all HD-DVD players expected to be backwards compatible with regular DVDs?

3) I hear the movies are expected to be 30+ GB in size, and current dual-layer DVD technology only supports roughly 8-9GB. Does the "HD-DVD" technology pertain to the media, the technology on the media, or both?

4) Any idea how much they will cost?

5) What resolution does HD-DVD support anyways?

Thanks in advanced guys!

Well its pretty awesome, Windows Media 9 has been selected as the HD-DVD standard. so new players will support playing HD content thats encoded in wmv9.

do a search on google you'll find tons of new articles and actually see some new hardware devices being released!

exciting stuff!

I thought you worked at CC, sold this stuff, and was more in the know that I?

I think it is Apex you want. He knows more about HT than anyone here I believe.
