Brand newish build finished tonight.

First SSD i've ever had, installed Win7, found out right after I installed that I should have enabled AHCI mode first.. so I did that in bios, got a BSOD upon restart. Googled found the Windows workaround.. did that. Now I can boot fine off the SSD, but my data HD doesn't show in windows.. as if it's not even there, but it shows in the BIOS just fine. D:

SSD is on Sata3, HD is on Sata2, if that makes any difference. Any idea?

edit: Haven't installed all windows updates yet.. doing that now maybe that will fix it, though I doubt it.

Did you check Disk Management, and see what filesystem type is shown for that drive or partition? If it shows as RAW, then you will have to run some recovery software to get your files back.

I had a similar issue with my HTPC after I re-installed Windows 7. The 1TB Green HD was divided into two partitions. I deleted and re-created the primary partition, and re-installed Windows 7. I discovered a month later, when I went to watch a movie, that the second partition was corrupted, and I couldn't read files.

My D drive was missing, and when I went to Disk Management, it was showing up as "RAW".

I deleted, re-partitioned, and re-formatted it, and re-copied the data from backups.

Edit:

I'm dumb and still not used to Win7... it was there under Disk Management after all I just missed it the first time because it didn't show up under assigned discs.. because I hadn't assigned it yet and didn't format it before installing Windows. It was in the bottom area and a couple clicks and a 6 second wait later.. it's working.

Sorry for the wasted time. :'(
