HD Copy question

How long do you thing it will take to copy 40 gigs of datd from 1 HD to another??? im moveing all teh stuff off of one of teh 40 gigs i have onto a 120 gig. roughly how ling??? gonna be connected through ATA on teh mobo. just dooin it through windows

I found that it was faster when I did a drive copy using WD or Maxtors utility through DOS.

This morning using WD Data Lifeguard it took me 2 hours to copy 15GB under DOS

IMHO if u use the partition magic pro software, it might be better, bcos u will also have a backup which u could apply anytime.

I found Acronis Partition Expert 2003 to do the fastest drive-copy job; copied last time 1/3 full 60GB drive to 40GB drive in some 15 minutes (partition copy); drives were on separate IDE controllers and copied OS-free, launched from 2 floppies...
