hd controller upgrade and w2k

My mom has a p2b-d and a western digital ata66 7200rpm hard drive 20Gb. I would like to upgrade her to a promise ata66/100 controller card. I would like to do so without reinstalling. How can I do that?

I haven't done this before but I would believe that you should plug in the card without any drives attatched then load the drivers for it. Then you attatch the hdd to it and tell it to boot from the card from BIOS and it should do the trick.
