HD config and setup in my PC??

Ok,
This should be apretty simple question for someone out there to answer. Please disregard my sig bc this question relates to a different PC. I am currently running a single 80gig HD on the primary IDE channel and a DVD/RW and CD drive as a master/slave on the secondary IDE channel. Now my question is this. I just got a great deal today and bought a 250gig IDE HD. Where should i install it? should i put it as the slave on the primary IDE with my old 80gig as the master or is some other config better to use? I only ask because i have heard that certain configs work better, but i feel i should probably know this....Please help me out.
Thanks

I'd put the new hdd on the secondary channel. It's best to avoid using two devices on the same channel at the same time while the other channel sits idle. Older ide controllers forced devices to use the lowest supported transfer rate of the two device connected to a channel but that's no longer an issue. Just check that all the devices are using the highest supported mode once it's all set up.

Thanks for the reply...i guess i thought that the limiting factor was still in play with IDE today....the motherboard is pretty new so i should have no probs then...thanks
