HD- can't access, no video on boot

have a 100g WD drive- if it's jumper is set correctly (either on board or on a pci100/66/133 card),
there is no video after the wxp flash screen, just blank. if I stick it in the usb2 enclosure,
computer freezes up/explorer crashes.

any ideas? am I doomed? would really like to use this drive and the data, haven't checked
but pretty sure it's out of warranty

Most newer WD's use no Jumper when set as a single Master which would be the case with a USB, dunno your config on the other scenerios

uggghhhh, my 200g WD drive in external usb case, all of my backups-

case will not power on when drive is connected, worked fine yesterday,
same thing with the other case (drive in it works fine)!!!!!!!!

what is with these crappy WD drives????????
