HD cache and RAID setup

I've got an NF7-S v2 Abit board, and currently have a 60 GB IBM Deskstar and 40 GB Maxtor, eachw ith 2 MB cache. I'm considering getting a 2nd 60 GB HD or larger with 8 mb cache. What I'm wondering is:

1. How does the combined cache on the hard drives work together?

2. Can I get a larger drive, and still create a striped RAID?

Generally, it doesn't. Cache doesn't generally mean as much on a stripe set because the firmware isn't expecting data to be layed out in that way.

Yes, but you'll be limited to using the portion equal to the smallest drive in the set.
