HD-A20 on sale- Update!

Looking to buy one for myself and dad. I have a 1080I 48" and he has a new
Toshiba 47" with 1080P. Just wanted to see if those that have the player were happy with the A20

Circiut City has the A20 on sale for $249.00 with the dvd offers. I can use the 10%
off coupon for a total of $225 plus tax. I know its an older model but for the price, free dvd's and the holidays coming soon I might jump on this

The 1080P is the deciding factor, plus no real deals out for a 1080p player under $200.

Any feedback?

Do you mean the A2? The A20 is 1080p, while the A2 is 1080i. It doesn't really matter either way though.

Some people say the PQ is better on the A2 than the A20, even with 1080p. No firsthand experience though.

I had an A2, and Have the A20 now. Great price on it, the A20 is a Much better unit than the A2, if I had the $$ I would buy an extra at that price myself.

Update Went for the A-20 at Circuit City Three in stock @ $249.00 less 10% AAA coupon = $224.97 Had to push the manager to accept the coupon but he finally gave in. Declined the $65.00 Monster HDMI cable lol

Took it home -hooked it up with optical to receiver and HDMI to DVI cable ($6.00) from monoprice to my Mitsubishi 48" projection tv

Set it for 1080I and was blown away by the difference from my old Sony 480I dvd player that was top of the line a few years ago. Reviewed some scenes on standard DVDs -Juraisic Park 3, Pearl Harbor and Private Ryan. Sound was about the same as before, maybe a little more defined but picture quality/sharpness was definitely visible. I kept the old DVD player hooked up via component but limited to the 480I output it has. Switching between the new and old was enough to justify the purchase. Keep in mind that this also plays 1080P for those with new sets

I actually went back to CC to ge one for my Dad. CC web site said one in stock.Went to store to pickup and told was sold out. Manager did find a few at another store for me to pick up and for my trouble reduced the price to $200.00! Not bad!

Also come with 5 free movies to be ordered. Bios can be updated to play 1080/24
