I decided to take advantage of game offer on HD 7950. I'm pulling my GTX 570 out to go into another build for my nephew. Local retailer has got MSI and Gigabyte edition in stock. I'm just not sure which one to pick up... Both are about same price.

Gigabyte GV-R795WF3-3GD AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072MB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16

or

MSI
R7950 TF 3GD5/OC AMD Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Overclocked

Whats going to be my average FPS increase ?

Do you plan on overclocking? If so, the MSI TF3 would be your better bet. The Gigabyte is a great card with a great cooler. Just doesn't overclock as well because of the locked voltage.

I have also just got two HIS 7950 IceQ X2 cards and it's also a nice card. Comes with a very good cooler (better than my MSI 7950 TF3, especially the VRM cooling) but only has a 2 year warranty. I can control core and memory voltage too on these HIS cards using Afterburner.

Looks like Gigabyte is coming stock @ 1000mhz 1.25v . Thats pretty fast

Yup, pretty quick out of the gate. The Gigabyte card has a great cooler and you should be able to hit 1100-1150 with the stock 1.25 volts. To be fair the MSI TF3 is only clocked 40Mhz slower @ 960 and with 1.25v you should be able to hit 1200+. At that point though the cooler can get pretty loud. Not a big deal if you game with headphones.
The HIS model as stated above is another great pick, but it's not at the store where you plan on buying.

I might be in the market for a 7950 again, was looking at the the 7870. 7870 might be too much of a downgrade.

I've been looking at these 2 cards. It seems the WF3 is the quieter card, but the TF3 should OC better. There aren't really any recent reviews of these cards overclocked and over volted.

Theres also the Tahiti LE 7870. 7950 with some cores turned off. Good card between the 7870 and 7950.

I have my Gigabyte at 1100/1400, as it says in my sig. What annoyed me was the fans using auto. They would ramp up and be too loud for my taste. I have set them to manual running at 46%, works perfect. I would of liked 1200/1500, but its not going to happen, so staying at 1100.

The Tahiti LE was another one I was checking out. I'm only playing @ 1080. The 7950 may be overkill.

Play Crysis 3 and you will see the 7950 is not overkill @ 1080p. The 7870 LE is a great card if you have a strict budget. I feel the sapphire 7950 is worth the extra money though. More cores, memory and is only 5-8% slower than the 7970 clock for clock.

Depends on your budget - honestly I decided to go with the 7870 TX/LE over the 7950 - the deal I found was just freaking that damn good :)

honestly just depends on the prices - what you're willing to spend.......will you be selling your 570?

This is good deal:

Does Sapphire make a good card?

sapphire makes some of the best Radeon cards.thats a reference HD 7950 PCB design. unlocked voltage. good cooler. 29 cm long. so make sure you can fit it in your case. amazing deal. go for it.

For the latest games at 1080p like crysis 3 , farcry 3, tomb raider you will need a HD 7950 overclocked to 1.1 ghz to run at max settings. few games like crysis 3 you might have to run without MSAA if you want to stay above 40 fps.

Is it better then the MSI FIII OC Boost edition?
