Hiya all,
A week or so ago I posted about Battlefield 3 not running all that well on my PC.
I fixed the immediate issue, but it was just too slow, so today I bought a new card - a Saphhire 7870.
It runs Battlefield 3 BEAUTIFULLY in full HD, ultra settings - for about a minute.
Then it crashes the game.
I didn't reinstall windows when I got it - I did, however, install the graphicsdrivers again.
There should be plenty of juice for the card - I have a 520w PSU - and it doesn't overheat. First of all, it doesn't have time, and second of all, I checked - it never has time to go above 50 degrees C.
I've tried every driver from the AMD / ATI site, but I am completely defeated here. My next move is to try reinstalling windows, I guess, but it doesn seem like it should be necessary for just changing the videocard?!
My specs are:
Core i7-860 @ 2.8ghz (stock speed)
Some Dell no-name mobo
4 gb RAM
2 x SATA harddrives
HD 7870
Chill innovation 520watt PSU
Thanks!!
