I want to know if the MSI 7950 fits your case, because I have the same case as you do and last time I checked the clearance with the cage in place is about 9.5". I think this card is more than 10" so...

Hmm i think your measurements are a little off. Because i had a HD 6950 in this case with the drive cage in and the card measured 10.28"

Both are good choices but you are comparing the OCability to the HIS ICEq X2, which is a $350 card versus a $215-230 on the 7870 XT. In the BF3 benchmark you posted, you are getting 18% better performance at 50% additional cost.

Where are you seeing the XT for $215? The lowest I"m seeing is $240 + Tax (CA).

Oh okay. I probably did. I wasn't using a retractable measuring tape as I only had a long metal ruler in hand so 😛

But please do update us on whether the card fits or not. I really don't want to remove that HDD cage just to fit a longer card so.

i didn't wanna do that either and sure when it arrives i will

Durvelle for your budget; if you can't find a used 7950......next best thing will be the 7870 TX......

They overclock well; are not as fast as the 7950 overclocked but you're also paying a lot less......🙂
