HD 7770 with new catalyst doesn't support my HDTV

I have an HD 7770 which typically drives my Acer 23" 1080p monitor. Once in a while I will switch the HDMI output to drive my Onkyo receiver which is hooked up to my Panasonic 50" plasma via HDMI, and the sound and video signal will transmit perfectly to my Panasonic TV and Onkyo setup.

I recently updated the Catalyst drivers and now only the sound transmits, but I get a "Resolution Error" on the Onkyo amp suggesting that the video signal being sent by the HD7700 is no longer correct. As such I am left with a black screen with no option to switch to a lower resolution which would in theory allow me to remedy the problem...and then I am forced to plug back in my Acer 23".

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Is it an issue with the HD7770, Onkyo Amp or Panasonic HD TV?

How many outputs on the 7770 are you using? Do you have an HDMI switch, or are you physically removing the monitor cable and plugging in the receiver cable?

I use a DVA>HDMI cable to use two DVI screens on my 7850, it's quite possible to grab one of those so you don't need to switch cables to have both screens.

It's possible to plug your other screen into your computer, reboot it, and hit F8 to get into boot options. From there, select "enable low resolution mode".
