Seems your mobo was acting up but once it heard it was heading for the big garbage dump in the sky it pulled its finger out and is now on best behaviour.

Your explanation is as good as any other. i tend to think that my HD 6990 just didn't like getting put away for 2 months while i ran my GTX 590 for my 3D Vision evaluation . . . .
:whiste:

That or else AMD implanted a device to shut it off at will
^_^

Well hey, atleast we had a thread about it!!.. haha.

And you heard anything about Nvidia making it so you can Tri sli 590 and 2 580s? seems terribly bad not to have such a option open for Nvidia users.

No multimonitor on 1 card, no sling with their highest performing card... maybe Nvidia is leaving the graphics business and focusing totally on Tegra..?

Glad to contribute something out of the ordinary; my strangest HW issue ever.
:$

i asked Nvidia about Tri-SLi GTX 590 plus GTX 580 but they weren't very enthusiastic even after i "pitched" it to them .. maybe someday.

AND the GTX 590 does muli-imonitor - it's a single card, last i looked. And Galaxy offers multi-monitor off of a GTX 560 Ti.
:whiste:

Maybe out of desktop gaming and into the next huge growth market - mobile gaming; but i doubt it as they are still putting a lot of effort into 3D Vision
