Snagged this baby off ebay for 140$ cad, good deal ? Seller states it is new in box.

Its a powercolor hd 6850.

My question is, along side my 1100T and 16gigs of ram I should be fine for bf3 correct? I am in win7 32 bit atm with a 1440x900 rez but if the gpu can handle it I think I will install 64bit to use the extra ram.

Thoughts?

Its probably as good a deal as a 7770 would have been, had you held off.
And at 140$ the 6850 is a pretty good performance/$.

High Quality - 1680x1050, 0xMSAA, 16xAF
= avg of 50 fps or so.

Going by Techspot.com charts.

Yes you ll be able to play it with high settings at your current resolution, with smooth gameplay
(probably 60+ fps avg).

Yeah but I want to play BF3 asap, the game is just sitting here unopened so far:p

Besides this isnt my main computer, this computer I building for my father. I am building my own with a i5-2500k and I am pretty sure I am waiting for the 7000 series to roll out before I purchase my gpu.

Thinking of something aorund the 6970 ( don't plan on using multimonitor setup so crossfire or sli would be of no use to me )

My hope is with the 7000 series the 6970 price drops even or the 570-580's price drops. I am willing to spend 350ish for a card.

That system will run the game perfectly fine...you'll get dips into high 30's and low 40's no matter what though.

Price seems fine. You need to update your OS to 64bit though. 32bit can only use 4gig of RAM and that's inclusive of VRAM.

I bet for a BF3 only machine you could get away with using a a 6770 or a 6790.

I was using a 6790 at 1600x1200 and it played pretty well on high matched up with a i3 2100 and 8gb ddr3...

A overclocked 6770 should deliver for 1440x900 but if you got crysis or some other killer game perhaps a 6850 would be a good choice.
