NEVERMIND! Apparently the VGA cable became loose (nearly unplugged from the monitor itself) when I was plugging everything into the back of the computer. Doh.
Hi guys,
My spare computer is setup for guests to use, and I'm attempting to connect an older 19" VGA monitor to it (Samsung SyncMaster 915N). It has no digital inputs of any kind.
I have it connected via a VGA cable with a VGA-DVI adapter at the end, connected into a DVI port on the graphics card. I saw some display very briefly with it connected this way, but since then, the monitor simply stays in standby mode. The cable, adapter, and monitor both worked fine when this system had a different graphics card in it (8800 GTX, before a reformat).
To test the card, I connected it to a different monitor via DisplayPort. It works perfectly.
So, now I'm sitting here with both monitors connected - one via DisplayPort (displays perfect) and one via VGA-DVI adapter (no display). The VGA monitor isn't even showing up in the list of available monitors in CCC.
What gives? Is the HD 5700 series and up limited to only digital outputs?
