3830 would have been a more appropriate name for that card, seeing how it features a full-fledged rv670 gpu.

Heh, based on those reviews, it doesn't lag the 3850 by much in terms of real-world performance does it? I wish they'd done more with AA durring those tests but for $124.00 This seems pretty respectable for an *almost* entry-level card.

Wow, that is one kick-ass card for $124. Hope it makes it to the US market sometime. That card would sell like hotcakes. Would make a perfect budget gaming card for a second machine.

The 3850 sells right now at $150 with rebates, so the 3690 dosen't really look like enough of a benefit to risk trying to get one shipped from China. Once the 9600 GT is released, maybe in a few weeks, expect the 3850/3870 price to plummet.

The 9600GT should have about 85-90% of the performance power of a 8800GT and could potentially overclock close to a 8800GT. It will also be aimed at the $150 range and will cause the 3850 to drop.

China only? Dang, that's a good deal. It would help Ati a lot to release that card here, it would rule the price point.

Too bad it is china only. Seems like low end mainstream got itself a decent card.. at least in China

Crisium:
..but what kind of profit margins it would have now that there wouldn't be this special deal and it would be widely sold? I mean it uses RV670 core and is artificially crippled meaning that this GPU is more expensive to make than those used in 3850 and 3870. One possibility is that this card uses failed RV670-GPU's which would also limit this release.

Nvidia will release G94 (D9M) core to this price point. It's clearly simpler and cheaper than G92 and basically fight would be over: 9600 GT would be like 25-30 dollars more expensive, but you would have 512MB memory and 256-bit mem bandwith AND performance very close to HD3870, beating HD3850 512MB. Also there will be Geforce 9600 GS which most likely is just lower clocked 9600 GT with 256MB memory.

(offtopic: Also 9500 GT which is to replace 8500 GT, fighting HD3470/HD3650, would be almost 8600 GTS if you look at specs.. most likely they are with equal performance since there is little update to architecture)
