But AT&T said they needed the movie to be shown in ten 12-minute parts because only mobile users will want to see it and only on their cell phones.

All the fucking actors are 13 years older and this is gonna suck cocks.

Given lead times, arranging holes in the lead actor schedules, writing, production, post-production etc even if they did do the movie following the series it would have been two or three years later. Hence, 10 years.

Movie airs tonight!

I was doing some reading this morning and I found this interesting tid-bit from when it was cancelled:

” It’s been confirmed that HBO offered to greenlight a small six-episode order of the groundbreaking drama but Milch, who has had bad experiences with so-called “short-order renewals,” rejected the offer. “For my part, I did not want to accept a short order. We couldn’t have done the work the way we wanted. I didn’t want to limp home.

So he didn't want to do a 6 hour season, but 12 years later he's ok with a 2 hour movie (and 1 dead main character)
Bummer.

I've never seen any of the Deadwood TV series. Would I be totally lost if I watched the movie, or do you guys think it'll be kind of stand-alone and able to be understood by non-watchers like me? I'd be interested in checking it out.
