Hayes V.92 External Modem

Saw a Hayes V.92 V.44 External Modem for $69 at Best Buy marked "clearance".

Looked like a good buy for an external modem sporting the new V.92 standard.

Anyone use this modem and care to comment on it?

Dang, I didn't even realize that Hayes was still around. They used to make great modems "back in the day," so I'd have to assume they're at least still solid.

I though Hayes went out of buiness awhile back. A v.90 is possible, but a v.92 modem from Hayes?

Excatly I thought Hayes went bust too. I still have a Hayes V.90 and still working fine.

Hayes got brought out by Zoom.

Don't know if the Hayes and Zoom are different modems, or Zoom is just milking the Hayes name.

Any info would be appreciated.

Yep, Hayes was "the standard" for all analog modems.
