Quite true! It is the price of RAM that is the killer in system building right now!
Ordered two of these 4000's and I am VERY pleased with the speed increase over my 3200. I would order two more but I the ram is too expensive.
G.Skill 2-3-2-5 for $220 shipped. I've bought two sets of this, and it runs rated timings at 2.60 to 2.65v. Mine is running 1T command rate at 240 MHz.
Socket 939 setups are good for people upgrading while keeping their old DDR RAM. If you were buying new RAM as well, then maybe consider socket AM2 or an Intel 775 setup.
