Not bad...not bad at all. I'll still wait for RAM prices to fall a bit more, though.

I ordered 1 set. My e-mail from them says that my order has been processed. I'll let you know if they send a back order ticket. But as of now it looks like it will ship today.

Nice! As more and more info about Vista came out I started thinking that I probably want 4GB, and since I already picked up some other MirconD9 chips (A Crucial 2GB pack) back on Black Friday, I was looking for another good deal on ram. Ordered mine. At worst case, I will now have the RAM to upgrade my HTPC to a new AM2 socket as I have DDR2 ram finally for it :D

Ha, not only do two sticks together add up to only 189, but the model number shows they are the same as the dual channel kit.

Buffalo FireStix DDR2 DIMM 1GB, 240 Pin PC2-8000 Unbuffered x64 Non ECC, CL5 Buffalo FireStix DDR2 DIMM 1GB, 240 Pin PC2-8000 Unbuffered x64 Non ECC, CL5

FSX1000D2C-1G

Buffalo FireStix DDR2 DIMM 2GB KIT, 240 Pin PC2-8000 Unbuffered x64 Non ECC, CL5

FSX1000D2C-K2G

logical deduction would tell you that 1G = 1 Gig and K2G = Kit 2 Gig

good find OP + Avalon

HOly MOnkeY!!!! DDR2-8000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dual Chanel FSB Quad pumped at 16,000Mhz!!!!

Max overclock on my E6600 would be 4000Mhz*9 or 36Ghz. I gotta get me some of this stuff for futureproofing!

Is it possible that you would get better performance with the "matched pairs?" of FSX1000D2C-K2G?

Will these work with my gigabyte GA-M61PM-S2 mobo? my manual says I need 1.8v memory. I'm not trying to oc or anything, and I don't know much about this stuff. Will this memory work at 1.8v? Thanks.

mchurchm,

If you're not going to overclock, i'd say this memory is overkill for your system.
you might want to get cheaper one.

i'm of the personal opinion that 'matched pairs' is a bunch of marketing BS. only thing it does is make sure that you get two sticks of the same memory.

dumb4ever, thanks. But the ocz mem you linked to says 1.9-2.1v. Will it work with my mobo? I don't know much about this mem voltage stuff, but I think my mobo will only take 1.8v memory.
