Hawking Wireless Antenna $14.99AR

so if it was in one end of the house then a uni-directional one would be best

if it was in themiddle, then the omni-directional one would be bestest

correct? 😀

Probably.

I've two of the these antennas...I'm so confused as to why they give you cable that is only about 1.5 feet long!! Thats barely enough cable to get it on top of your tower if you use one for antenna on the wireless network card

purty kewl. 😀

U guys seen the antennas they've made on the screen savers? Probably out on the web too...just simple coffee can type antennas

How well do these things really work? My router is on one end of the basement, so I'm guessing a directional antenna would be what I want. I get low signal strength in the bedroom 2 stories up. Will this really improve the signal or does it just make a marginal difference?

I second the question, and honestly...I don't wanna spend the $20 to figure it out 😀

I'd like to add I bought a $50 15dbi ( I think thats what it was, may be 16dbi ) corner directional from Hawking for my Linksys wrt54g and it's crap. With 15dbi I should have my whole neighborhood covered. My Apple Airport Express ( with NO external antenna! ) gets about the same range!

very marginal if any improvement. every once in a while i think i see an extra bar of reception but the longer i think about it the more i realize that bar is probably coming from wishful thinking. and the 1.5 long cord is horrible, what the hell were the engineers thinking?

Got a source for cheap pigtails? Those things are expensive everywhere it seems like. I want one for a Lucent Orinoco card.
