I'd like to go to either Kauai or Maui from Honolulu.

I'll need lodging for 2 nights, meals, flight from Honolulu to Kauai or Maui, and some place to swim.

Possible for $600?

Sounds doable, coming from Honolulu. If you are actually in Hawaii already, shouldn't *you* be the expert on this?

is your flight there included in that 600 or is that 600 for after you arrive?

same question I have....

because depending on where he is now, 600 might just be enough to cover the costs of the plane ticket.

On Maui you don't need to do anything. Just go down to the beach, relax, swim, watch the girls walk by.

Sounds like his transportation is covered to Honolulu (business trip?), he just has to cover this side trip.

I even have seen them doing crazy inter-island airfare for about 30$ each way.
That sounds REALLY doable as long as you don't stay at the 4S or Ritz, etc.

look at this! crazy...

I wish inter US flights were that cheap, or even flights TO ANYWHERE were that cheap haha.

I was talking to a field service tech that said that since flights are cheaper if you stay three days vs. one, they send them out for three days for calls and let them do whatever after the service is taken care of. Two days drunk on the beach FTW!

Not bad planes either, they have comfortable leather(ish?) seats.

From what i have been reading... Aloha and Hawaiian have been trying to keep up and have been offering some good deals too.
I wanted to take a day trip to Pearl Harbor this june just because its so cheap.

I booked 2 tickets for 1500 total 2-3 years ago.

I wanted to take a day trip to Pearl Harbor this june just because its so cheap.

I did exactly that last July, I thought it was worth it. Had a hell of a time with the buses though.

We got there early, got our tickets for Arizona Memorial, then we had plenty of time so we got tickets for the USS Missouri and the USS Bowfin (submarine) too. We did both of those tours, then killed some time before our trip to the Arizona Memorial. After we got off boat coming back from the memorial, we had just enough time to go get our checked belongings and see the last bus of the day leave the memorial parking lot. :Q

So we, like everyone else who missed the same bus, checked the map and saw another stop on the same line just up the road. So we went up and waited. After a while we saw our bus coming - but we were on the wrong side of the road! There was another stop across the street and up a ways - we were at the wrong bus stop! So we decided to hop on the next bus going the opposite direction from the airport to go to a local mall and get something to eat. We got off, saw a Subway (restaurant) across the street, and another bus stop directly across from where we got off. So we ate lunch at Subway, then waited at that other bus stop assuming it was on the same line. WRONG! We saw our bus turn out of a side street and head off in the direction of the airport without us!

So we go across the street and walk up that road until we find another bus stop and THAT time we asked the other people waiting there which lines stopped there. I tried calling my wife (who was still on Maui with my friend's wife - they had no interest in military history) to figure out the bus schedule, because at that point we were cutting it close for making it back to the airport on time. Fortunately we made it with a half hour to spare, but we spent way more time than I'd have liked waiting for buses. :D

Long story short, print a map of the bus lines and a bus schedule and take it with you. :)

I'm too stupid to figure out their pricing....

I searched for a r/t flight. The results page showed a $39-$69 fare and a $79 fare. But I have no idea why there is a difference in prices for the same itinerary.

I live here and go interisland all the time

IF you want a chill place to do free stuff, then Maui and Kaui is great

DO the road the Hana on Maui if you can.

Also the state park in Kauai just north of Princeville, easy to find, just go north until no more road has some great hikes and secluded beaches and waterfalls, and it's free as well

Try Hawaiian Airlines as well as they are doing $19 specials inter island.

dont forget to pick up your opala(trash) when you leave.

you should be able to find a decent place to stay for $100/night.
