Hawaii rr kazaa users

Are your downloads slow? Lately I'd be lucky to get 3-4 K/s, and thats IF I can get connected to a user. For example I tried doing a search for a popular song, and it had about 30 users, but when I tried to dl it I could only get connected to 1-3 users, and the speeds were crap (about .6-2k/s). Is rr capping kazaa or something? I dont think its my connection because I've been able to DL at decent speeds from apple.com, directconnect and others.

Nope, I haven't had any calls about slow connections specifically with Kazzaa.

Hawaii is one of the only RR affiliates who use a proxy though, you may wan't to check how you have things set up.

i use win mx, but roadrunner might be capping bandwidth during peak hours, or on certain ports.

hrm...i don't have the proxy set up on my network, and everything seems to work fine...

RR isnt doint anything about it in upstate NY. ive downloaded 20 gigs in the past 3 days. runs fine for me. speeds as high as 200k/s. doesent mattere how many people im connected to i get at least 30k/s

my feeling is that its just that hawaii is in a remote connection, which is going to reduce speeds, and hamper good connections since theres only a certain amount of routes packets can take out. there's only a handful of fiber lines running to the US mainland, and a few satellite links, most of which are used by the military.

wow. I've never gotten anywhere near 200k/s. Oh well.

They initially setup a web proxy but that was disabled immediately. kazaa downloads vary for me, as they always have regardless of my location.

I get at least 300 k/s and I live on Red Hill.
