If every card has its own core/memory ratio, overclocking tri and quad setups would be a nightmare.
Any recommendations on how to go about fining the ratio?
In gputweak, disabling the skin will reveal the lock button (as well as other features) for voltage vs clocks. Enable the lock. As you raise the clocks, voltage will rise accordingly since they are locked together now. You can use that as a guide for starters.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of the mem/core ratios in overclocking scenarios but it could be due to the memory controller changes?
You just have to look for it plain and simple
Such a tedious task :whiste:
Holy f***.
Finally a Hawaii card above 1300 Mhz.
Did you have any trouble pushing voltage through the card except the heat..??
I am trying to debate if the 290x lightning is worth it.
You would think with the card in hands of users for approximately 2 weeks & unlimted voltage, we would have something more than 1200s Mhz. Sadly nothing yet.
Thanks for the guide.
Regarding drivers I still get clock throttling with any driver after 13.12 with any added voltage. Doesn't matter what power limit I set or what temps. Just confirmed it still does it with 14.3 and Trixx. For example +37mV @1150 +50% power limit the clocks vary between 1100-1150. I have tried every beta driver, forcing power limit in Overdrive and using MSIAB and Trixx. 13.12 same settings 1150 constant.
This is just me reporting what occurs with my card (Tri-X R9 290) not complaining about the guide.![]()
What you using to load the card?
If using trixx what do you use to keep an eye on your cards while benchmarking?
1300mhz isn't very hard. Some of my scores are still standing on the hof and its been over 5 months.
I can only get 1150 with +50mv on the core. I'm not sure how far I can push voltage on hawaii. Anyone know? Is it still around 1.25 like Tahiti?
For all in benching you have no choice but to use modded GPU Tweak that allows for volts up to 2V, you'll also need to flash your bios, i suggest the PT1 bios for the 290X and PT1T for the 290P. Ill link other relevant guides and download links for bioses and GPU Tweak on the bottom.
Max volts i would use under water for benching with GPU Tweak is 1.55v, it'll drop to 1.47-1.5v or so depending on the card. For air you should just use Trixx and go all in 200mV, wont kill your card for quick runs, just make sure your fan is running 100% and that you open your sidepanel so it can breathe properly.
I'm not interested in quick suicide runs, but 24/7 stable clocks. Going plus 200mv probably isn't smart for that even with a tri-x cooler.
Then do +100mV?
