ATOT doctors, need help. Whenever I have whiskey on the rocks which is probably my only drink, I end up with severe burning of the stomach for the next week or so and even then it doesn't go away totally. Is this a symptom for ulcers or something of the sort? Am going to go to a doc but before he suggests an endoscopy I thought I'd hear some of your views. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shove an Advil up yer arse. If it gets a lot better within 12 hours, its your pancreas.

he's trolling, the last thing you want to do is take an NSAID when you are complaining of stomach pain

Rectal NSAIDs are more effective at reducing/preventing pancreatitis than oral. And since you're inserting it VIA the other end, no gastric irritation or bleeding risk (unless you use it that way for prolonged periods, then your rectum gets clobbered).

So ure saying that what I have is pancreatitis? Hmm I doubt it though cos I really don't drink as much to cause alcohol related problems. Only during certain occasions. Anyways I'm more tense than I was before and will have to take a doctors opinion. Thanks guys.

Are you Asian? Do you get flushing and redness in your face when you drink?

If it happens with spicy food as well, then it sounds like it's severe heartburn or acid reflux, and even a potential ulcer. I had that when I was younger and it sucked. Have you tried antacids or something like Pepcid to see if it reduces the symptoms?

Also, and I'm just going to throw this out there, you should probably trust a doctor that you actually see in person more than a bunch of anonymous posters on a tech forum. If he wants to shove cameras in you, that's just your lot in life. We'll look for the videos on one of those girlfriend revenge sites later.

If it takes a week I can't see how it is possibly related. It's something else.

I read it as lasting a week after drinking alchohol.

Anyway if we are all playing internet docs I'm betting on acute gastritis.

Or a chestburster.

You most likely need to have an adasactomy. You should be able to throw the whiskey back like a man after that.
