having trouble with Linksys Speedbooster

I've had my WRT54GS up and running for a week or two now and just got around to installing the first PCI Speedbooster card, model # WMP54GS. However, I'm not getting any Speedbooster action. I installed, connected, and it said I had a low connection speed at 54mbps. None of this 125mbps stuff. The max I've been able to get is 125mbps. My entire network is G...does the Speedbooster feature only work if everything in the network is a Speedbooster card? I've poked around the router and the card instructions are sparse...anyone know how to get the "35% increase" with this equipment?

I was reading the back of the WMP54GS box:

"And, unlike other technologies, with SpeedBooster you'll see an overall speed improvement even when running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular Wireless-G devices."

So...it should be working, but it's not. At least it gets really good reception. The lowest I got was 36mbps. The box sitting next to it has a D-Link G PCI card in it that runs at about 27mbps. Not bad, but I want my 35% lol...

I also noticed a graphic on the back of the box. It had a little speedometer that said 'boost performance up to 35%!" It had G only, then G and SpeedBooster up to 20%, then All SpeedBooster up to 35%. Sooooo I should be getting 20%.

Unless...unless the SpeedBooster only means it enhances the signal strength of G speeds, rather than increasing speeds to over 54mbps. I wouldn't put it past marketing to do that...

gs works with gs equipment. if something next to it is only getting 27, then your enviroment is rather wifi unfriendly to begin with😛
