Having trouble: Win2K ICS with Mac

Hello,

I have a Win2K machine running ICS. Client computers that are running WinME are able to connect fine. The problem that I have is getting the Mac to connect. I was able to get the Mac connected on a prior setup using an ME machine and a 3rd party proxy program.

Isn't Win2K ICS supposed to let any DHCP client connect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time. 🙂

Win2k ICS should work for any DHCP client. I used to have a win2k server running DHCP (started out with ICS before I had time to configure the server) and ran linux clients off of it and even had one of my friends hook her powerbook up to it so I know it works. Are you getting an IP address at all, or is it just the internet that doesn't work?

One problem I've seen:

With certain versions of Open Transport (sorry, not sure which ones), the Mac client will not receive any DNS server addresses from certain DHCP servers.
All other info comes across fine, so once the DNS server addresses are added manually in the TCP/IP Control Panel, everything is peachy.
