Having trouble sharing three comps on router

So I have 3 comps on my router, sharing my DSL..two through ethernet cable, and one through a phoneline port.

However when all three comps are using the internet, one usually ends up not working, if not two or even all three.

Is my router just crappy? It's a Dlink D604 router..

What are you settings in your router setup as?

What do you mean by "using the internet"? Downloading gigantic files at high speeds, with one or two machines using up the entire bandwidth of your broadband? That usually makes computers on my home network seem to be unable to get any traffic through.

It's all default..I only modified the pppoe settings.

Just regular casual internet use.
