Having trouble on an upgrade

Maybe you can help me out on a troubleshoot.

Received a BFG 6600GT , but made a lazy install of the card...basically just unistalled the old drivers, removed the old card (ti4400 gainward), Placed the newer card in...Gets detected, installled the new drivers (71'sh)....All set.

tried running 3dmark 03 and get a lot of pixelation (thats all i can define it...green and purple colored pixels) starting from the second test (proxycon...the one in space) and eventually stops/crashes when i reach the trolls lair (before they argue...the trolls).

Upped the voltage on RAM/AGP card already, used a driver cleaner, went to the BIOS checked the aperture at 128 (agp).Tried older drivers as well.

Am trying to get my old HD.Will try to install windows there together with the updates and new drivers.Hopefully its a driver issue.

If its one thing that maybe wrong in my sysytem, the northbridge fan has died a long time ago. never bothered putting a new fan on it; i feel the hsf maybe sufficient enough.
It maybe heat, but im running the test with the case open and the AC in the room is cold enough.

If not that, i may go ahead and try putting it in a friends system to see if its my setup.

BTW current setup is
845 intel chipset
2.6@3.0 150fsb
768mb of RAM
350 watt PSU

Thanks in advance!

Um, i get those problems when i overclock (and its not a heat problem, my PSU is crappy)

Try setting the clock speeds to 500/900
keep the bios, ram/agp voltage, etc at default...

you could try a differnet PSU, as that seems to be your problem as of now
and fix that fan 😉
