When I set it to 133fsb/33pci, and 4/3 fsb/RAM (I'm using PC100), it'll boot into windows at 1.75V, but everything in windows (win98 SE) is jerky. The mouse movements aren't steady, and menus pop down slowly at times. I benchmarked using RC5 and the speed was correct for an 850, but everything else in Windows seems sluggish.

Any suggestions?

Try a little more voltage, as you may be on the virge of a hang. Also, if you're using an sblive, get the latest drivers. I assume that you've installed the 4 in 1 drivers. If this is a new system, you could also have a hardware conflict. I had to move my nic to a different pci slot when it was exibiting the same behaviour you are talking about here.

Ah, I think I have the latest sblive drivers, but I'll check again.

Doh! Forgot to install the 4 in 1's.

And no, this isn't a new system. At normal speed it's very stable (or it was when I first built it, but y'know how windows gets after a few months).

Ok, I got it stable at 130/33 (making speed 845 instead of 850) and 1.75V. The temp is the only concern right now (57C/135F), and I think adding another fan to the case and replacing one that's already in there should fix it. BTW, my CPU temps have been getting gradually warmer recently...could the thermal grease have dried up or something and need to be reapplied?

57C is pretty darn warm for a p3-650. What heatsink are you using on it?

Also, what kind of grease did you have on the chip? RS grease dries out on durons/t-birds, but that is because of the high temp concentrated on one small spot.
