Having trouble installing printer

I bought a UPS label printer, specifically a zebra eltron 2543 from ebay.

I have no Parallel printer port and it only takes parallel, so I bought a Parallel to USB adaptor. Whenever I connect it to my printer it "installs", but than I can't find it.

What am I doing wrong?
