Hi guys,

I just put together a machine with these specs:

Epox Motherboard for AMD, Model EP-8K9AI
Kingston DDR SDRAM 512 MB 400 MHz PC3200
NVidiaGeForce 3 Ti500

When I power on the machine, the board doesn't beep or anything it simply powers on as normal. However, I get no signal on my monitor. Any ideas on what could be messed up? All my jumpers are set correctly. The 8K9AI advertises as being PC3200 compliant but the manual says 2700 is the highest. Would this be a problem or will the memory adjust to the motherboard's speed? The card works on my other machine just fine.

Thanks!

You shouldn't have a problem running higher speed memory in a computer that doesn't support that speed, providing: 1) you don't manually turn the speed up in the BIOS beyond what the board supports, and 2) the RAM is of the type that the board supports. So, just putting ECC RAM in a board that doesn't support it would cause a problem, but putting PC3200 in a board that only supports PC2700 would certainly not. In my experience most motherboards are set by default to use the lowest common denominator in speed (PC1600?) so that you don't blow out your RAM when you turn it on for the first time.

As for the GeForce3 Ti500, have you tried putting another video card in the new machine? There might be something wrong with the motherboard or its settings that you could access with a less demanding card. It's also possible that there could be an incompatibility between the card and the mother board although that seems very unlikely. See my recent post - I wonder if we might have the same problem?

I am getting the same thing. First I hosed my BP6 last night because it didnt match the new case I put it in and the power/led/HDD pin array was shorted. Upon fixing that the thing would spin up but not actually boot. Vegetable. So I had this bright idea over lunch to use the PSU from my Computer upstairs which is a 350W enermax. I plugged it in, and the BP6 still wouldn't boot. So I put it back into the NV7-133R. NOW THAT COMPUTER WONT BOOT!!! WTH!?!

Same problem, no beeps, no nothing but fans and self tests.

I think somehow I fried the PSU so when I go home I am going to power up and check the voltages on the pins. I tried 3 different ones to no avail.

Last time I had this problem I just put in a different PSU. Something in some component needs to reset, but I dont know what it is...

Sorry I can't help you, I need the same help! Someone must know.:brokenheart::confused:
