Having trouble Burning Audio CD with Plextor Modle W1210TA

I have had this drive since April but this is my first time to burn audio files with it. I am not trying to dupe a audio CD rather I am trying to burn mp3's onto a CD which would be playable on a regular CD player.
I used both Adaptec and MVP 2000 (a program that comes with the plexwriter) and when I burned with them it gave me a sound track that consists of a screaming noise. I figured this could be due to some hardware changes I made recently so I reformatted and now have a clean install of windows 98 se. Now however I create an audio CD and there is no sound on the tracks.

Do you have any ideas?

I am using Firmware 1.08

Can you describe the error a bit more? Did you burn the mp3's to cda (CD Audio) or as a data file mp3? Did you have an error message when burning? What's displayed on the cdr that you burned? Did media player come up but with no sound? I have a PX12x10A and am using both EZCD 4.05 and PM 2k without any problems. My OS is Win98SE too.

"Can you describe the error a bit more? Did you burn the mp3's to cda (CD Audio) or as a data file mp3?"
i burned them as a cd audio (*.cda)

"Did you have an error message when burning?"
as for errors i got none, it burned normally and booted out the cd then took it back, and said that the burn was secsesfull.

"What's displayed on the cdr that you burned?"
for some reason it would not let me "Write CD-text info" so it was simply displayed as as Audio CD

"Did media player come up but with no sound?"
yep, and if your wondering i can play other Audio CD's just fine on both my DVD and the Plextor.

my version of Adaptec easy cd creator is 4.03
the burner does not seem to have any trouble burning files onto a cd or duping cd's just audio.

YGM. Make sure you have 74 or 80 min. of music ready to burn. Home cd players can only read one track. If you don't close the cdr it won't read either. Good luck.
