gopunk I hope your week improves. The past week or two has sucked for me, but I am hoping that it is getting better.

Hang in there man.

Try focusing at some positives instead of negatives (glass half full instead of half empty):

- You are getting an education and working to better yourself and your position in life
- Your future career-wise is wide-open and you are still young and can work toward achieving your dreams
(not stuck in some dead-end job in your middle ages looking back at mistakes that put you in that position)
- You are (I assume) relatively healthy with no major medical problems
- You have a nice home with some cool stuff and don't worry about not having food to eat (right here you are doing better than probably 50% of the world population)
- You are single and are free persue romance with a woman that strikes your fancy
- You have limited responsibility (no home to pay and care for, spouse or children to provide for, nobody depending on you) - you can be spontaneous and enjoy doing whatever you want whenever you want.

These are just a small sample of some of the positive things you (and many "younger" people may be taking for granted. Many of these will change after you reach age 30 or so. You have your whole adult life ahead of you and the exciting (and sometimes scary) thing is that it is a blank canvas. Life is too short to dwell on negatives - go out and enjoy/experience it!!!!!!!

lost a ton of money (for me) in stocks
You've only lost money if you intended to sell the stocks. Remeber, stocks are intended as a longer-term investment. Give the economy some time to get companies rolling again so the market can reflect this. Don't check your stock prices on a daily basis - it will only add to your anxiety. Things will get better for you.

Also, I'll suggest a good time management book. Following the principles of time management might make you feel a lot more comfortable, and less overwhelmed, during future times when you have a big load to carry in school: One Suggestion Actually, it's good to develop some good habits of time management now. Once you graduate and get out into the working world, these skills will greatly benefit you and your career.

Analyst This?

No, Analyze This. :p;)

Actually, that is some great advice. Puching something harmless, burns off extra adrenaline. I have a speed bag in my garage for this very pupose.

Define "a ton of money". I was saving up for a down payment on a house and had worked upto $9700. In a year and a half I was down to $1400. Basically I have to start over. I was expecting to be able to move out and into a place of my own sometime next year.

Yup. I think that 12-year old boy in Iraq that had both of his arms blown off and the rest of his family killed has had a worse week than you have.

Put things in perspective, my friend. You're blessed beyond your comprehension!

as for the other stuff...

overloaded with HW
midterm on friday
lost a ton of money (for me) in stocks
realized that a lot of my friends are not as cool as i thought they were
found out this one female friend is now taken.... i probably never had a chance, but hey, it still makes me sad okay
this guy tried to scam me out of 40 bucks
went to play softball on intramural team... 4 other teammates showed up, field was so wet the ball didn't bounce
etc

i know some of the stuff doesnt' sound that bad (like the last one), but yea. the thing i don't want to talk about is pretty damn big.

i probably should be profoundly depressed, but as it is, i am just mildly depressed. all the same, it sucks.

sorry, i just felt like whining and getting this sh1t off my chest :(:(:(:(

"i can never escape, and my heart, it explodes"

If it's the worst week of your life, it can only get better. :)

cheers.

Yeah...no fvckin shit.

Try losing a job and finding out your estranged wife is seeing someone else (in the same week). That'll fvck ya up.

But, to quote John Cleese, "well, I got better."

:D

hey at least your parents didn't die, you didn't find out you're infertile, you haven't been a car wreck, and you haven't been robbed. and your hard disk didn't crash. so it could be worse. ;)

My Fiancee found out her mother had problems with her parathyrod and was put on a heart monitor because they were afraid she would die, her father had cancer and her grandmother died all in the same month. (parental news was in the same week, days apart). In addition my brother was killed shortly afterwards in a fall and comes a year after I had a stroke that nearly blinded me.

Bad sh!t happens, deal with it and thank your higher power of choice that it's not worse.

At lease you still have your health......

I heard there was a funeral for a person who died from SARS, and 28 people who went to the funeral and now suspected of catching it. In Cananda..... now that sucks.

Hope you feel better.... go get a nice meal. :)

Damn, that sucks dude.

I would have never noticed, you always seem pretty upbeat.

Don't let it get to you though, things will certainly get better.

"I wish all I had to do now was finish homework"
