This has happened twice already in two different machines. IE just opens itself and start opening tabbed windows at an amazing speed. I can't do anything to stop it, Task Manager doesn't even open.

I have to completely re-boot the computer. Is anyone having a similar problem?
 
thats def malware of some type.
do these tabs have addresses or are they all empty?
if they are opening porn pages then I would get out my os disc and do a clean install.

also are these 2 machines on the same network?
 
Well, I can't see the pages because they show up so fast that IE doesn't even load the HTML. Yes, they are on the same network and I'm running a full virus and spyware scan.
